The European Association for Critical Animal Studies (EACAS) invites session proposals and abstracts for the upcoming conference, “Actioning Change Through Education: Transforming Human-Animal Relations in Times of Crisis”, to be held in Berlin, Germany from May 2–4, 2025. The conference will explore meaningful improvements to human-animal relationships with a focus on practical solutions. Key questions include: – What role can education play in fostering just relationships between humans and other animals? – What societal shifts are required for an ethical and sustainable coexistence with nonhuman animals? – How do we connect different struggles for social justice by addressing how deeply intertwined the well-being of humans, nonhumans and our shared planet is? – What kind of policy changes and practices are best suited to increase public awareness of the interdependence of human, animal and planetary health? Endlich wieder Tag der offenen Tür im Tierheim Berlin! Wir laden Euch ein zum Blick hinter die Kulissen. Lernt unsere tierischen Bewohner kennen, erfahrt mehr über unsere Arbeit und verbringt einen wunderschönen Tag mit ganz viel Herz und Fell. Ein besonderes Highlight ist der Auftritt der Comedy-Newcomerin Marie Claire Penser, die mit Ironie, Authentizität und trockenem Humor begeistert. Mit ihrer Stand-up-Comedyshow lädt sie das Publikum zum Lachen ein. Ebenfalls im Programm: die legendäre Agility-Show mit beeindruckenden Hundekunststücken sowie eine choreografierte Präsentation der Tierheimhunde, die Herzen erobert. Wie in jedem Jahr gibt es eine riesige Auswahl an Foodtrucks mit leckeren vegan/vegetarischen Speisen, sowie ein abwechslungsreiches Bühnenprogramm. Verschiedenste Marktstände laden zum Bummeln, Schauen und Shoppen ein und bei leckerem Kaffee und Kuchen im Tierheim-Café mit Garten lässt es sich gut verweilen. Besonders beliebt: die Cocktailbar im Exotenhaus mit erfrischenden Drinks. In unserer Kids-Area finden unsere kleinen Gäste eine große Hüpfburg, ein Wasserbällebad, Kinderschminken und vieles mehr.
