Weltweite Aktionen zum Anti-Fur-Day
Nicht nur in Berlin fanden am 13.02.2007 Aktionen gegen Echtpelz statt, sondern weltweit. Hier drei davon mit Bericht und Fotos:
Israel:
In Israel, we had a great success, about 200 persons ! for Israel; it is huge ! we had a very important coverage; t.vs, internet news/ newspaper , it started at 17;00 pm, we tryed to gave our letter, but nobody received us, at the embassy, so we gave it to the bodyguard standing there, but we will also post it ,( by the way , for all of you, like us ,who won't be received by the ambassador, please don't forget to post your letter ! ) at 19;00 we marched to a fur selling shop (who have many branches in Israel ) ; a spontaneous demo started there, and ended very fast, as the big manager came to us, declaring that they will immediately stop the sales of all real fur items, in all their shops !so tonight is a great night !
Australien:
Our demo was relatively small as we didn't have much time to organise it since we're in the middle of quite a few other campaigns, but still quite effective. We got quite a bit of media, did some radio interviews and got an Australian Associated Press story (which all Australian papers buy their stories from), so it's as good as we could hope. We're hoping for more but that's it so far.. a few of our photos from the day attached. Good luck everyone else with your demos today!
Kroatien:
We just returned from the Chinese embassy in Zagreb, Croatia. Counting up to 25 participants and 12 policemen in our protest, which was accompanied by banners, a body screen showing a video of cats and dogs being skinned alive, and one activist speaking paroles with the megaphone, we spend an hour in front on the Chinese embassy. There was no reaction from inside the embassy, but there were two TV stations and some newspaper journalists accompanying the protest with interest. They all received a press release, and CDs/DVDs with photos and films showing the cruelty done to dogs and cats in China. All in all this was a nice protest with many activists, regarding the location of the Chinese embassy. Hopefully the others were successful around the globe and it all had some effect on politics and EU lawmakers. Best wishes from the Animal Friends Croatia
