Hello and welcome to Berlin
This article is intended to inform you about who we are and to give you a brief introduction to the wide vegan variety Berlin has to offer to vegans. We hope that this way you’ll have an easy start and enjoy our city from the very beginning.
“Berlin-vegan“ is a group of about 30 grassroots activists promoting animal rights and veganism. On our website, we offer information on these topics, focussing on the scene in Berlin and its activities. We also inform you about where to shop for vegan products and where to find restaurants offering vegan dishes. The information is useful if you’re a new vegan or new to Berlin, but it may also help you find something new if you’ve been living here for a while. Our forms for e-mailed protest are also very useful and informative.

As far as vegan shopping is concerned, the Vegan Shop, to be found in the district of Kreuzberg, is especially noteworthy. It offers a wide range of exclusively vegan products including fresh organic fruits and vegetables, often regionally produced, bread and rolls, rice, pasta, grain, meat and egg substitutes, non dairy milks, vegan cheese, cosmetics not tested on animals, as well as shoes.

Other animals rights groups
Among the other animals rights groups in Berlin are Berliner-Tierbefreiungs-Aktion (BerTa) (approx. translation: Berlin animal liberation action network), Nandu and Tierversuchsgegner Berlin-Brandenburg (on our site abbreviated as TVG) (antivivisectionists Berlin-Brandenburg). All groups organize public protest and participate in events organized by other groups.
BerTa organizes a monthly event known as Solibrunch where home-cooked food is sold in order to use the revenues for political activity.
Nandu is a network of people who love to connect the struggle for Animal Liberation with other progressive social and ecological movements. Global Freedom, Climate Justice, Gender Politics, Nonviolence and all the other shiny stuff.
The antivivisectionists have consultation hours on Wednesdays.
