Dear Madam or Sir of FRIIS in Scandinavia,

I am shocked that your company FRIIS still sells rabbit fur-trim items. Even as fur farming restrictions expand throughout Europe, Friis seems content to stumble backwards with an ethically adverse array of fur collars. I understand this year's collection featured a lot of furs formerly worn by rabbits.

There is absolutely nothing fashionable or elegant about how animals are killed in the fur industry! Rabbits for fur spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages. Even if their meat was also eaten, which is not the case because of the two breeding lines that are used most of the time (one only for the fur and one only for the meat), that would also be no reason for supporting the torture and massacre on these wonderful animals. Of course, fur farmers use the cheapest and cruelest killing methods available, that’s capitalism!

In today's marketplace, progressive retailers like J. Lindeberg, J. Crew, Ann Taylor, Polo Ralph Lauren, Orsay, H&M and others no longer feature real fur in their collections. No matter how you market the end product, ALL fur begins with violence and suffering.

I am very disappointed that Friis is promoting such outdated cruelty to animals when luxurious cruelty-free materials are readily available. Whether it comes from minks, foxes, raccoons, chinchillas, beavers, rabbits, or lynx, fur looks of course best on its original owners. I refuse to buy anything from Friis in my Scandinavian holidays until your company removes all fur from its collections. Of course, I cannot patronize your stores until a no-fur policy is instated. Please inform me of any plans to replace real fur with contemporary faux alternatives.

Sincerely,
